Construction Cost Project Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Cost Project Analyst to join our National Real Estate Services team at Aldi. As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in managing construction costs on a national level, collaborating with divisional real estate teams to assess construction bids. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction documents and hold an educational background in construction, architecture, or engineering. Your focus will be to ensure construction costs align with project scopes and regional cost trends.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Construction Managers to develop negotiation points with contractors.
• Collaborate with the divisional Director of Real Estate and Construction Manager to define appropriate scopes requiring further clarification or revised pricing.
• Provide divisions with current pricing data and practices for a consistent pricing structure.
• Analyze bids in detail, presenting reports to divisional real estate teams to select the most qualified and competitively priced bidder.
• Prepare quarterly reports for the National Real Estate Project Manager to track pricing data.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in construction documents and proposals.
• Research alternative materials and methods for cost-effective construction practices.
• Assist in training and developing team members to maintain a motivated workforce.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Construction Estimating.
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, RS Means software, and construction cost indices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
