Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc is seeking an Executive Director to join their Late Development Team Lead in Oncology. This critical role involves leading the Late Development Team (LDT) to establish and execute a global product(s) strategy, integrating scientific rationale, clinical and nonclinical development, regulatory, medical, commercial input, and other key strategies. The Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership, oversee the product lifecycle from proof of concept to approval, and balance innovation with program speed and value for patients. Preferred qualifications include strong cross-functional leadership skills, a scientific background, and experience in late-stage drug development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the leader of cross-functional LDT(s) with accountability for product strategy and execution.
  • Develop a vision and strategy for the product with the LDT and relevant functional teams.
  • Identify global product development opportunities that optimize patient value.
  • Participate in the Long Range Plan process and develop Integrated Product Development Plans.
  • Lead and drive team accountability, promote cohesiveness, and provide strategic guidance and support.
  • Mentor team members, align the organization, and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Accountable for project budget, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Contribute to disease assessments and portfolio initiatives.
  • Develop effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Participate in ongoing development of cross-functional teams, processes, and resources.

Qualifications

  • +15 years of global drug development experience in the pharma/biotech industry.
  • Strong leadership in a multi-functional environment with a track record of results.
  • Ability to define and communicate a compelling long-term vision.
  • Prior experience in late-phase Solid Tumor Oncology drug development.
  • Experience managing collaborations and alliances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions.
  • Cross-cultural and cross-organizational management skills.
  • Proven capability to lead global cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership in diversity and inclusion.

Educational Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required.
