Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Homewood Suites Glen Allen. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the physical structure of our hotel, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our guests. Your responsibilities will include performing a variety of maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, and equipment upkeep. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and ensuring the overall appearance of the hotel meets our quality standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform minor and routine maintenance tasks on the property.
• Replace air-conditioner filters and tend to heating and cooling systems.
• Maintain equipment with preventative maintenance procedures.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
• Ensure the quality of appearance of the interior and exterior of the hotel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification required.
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or extensive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

The Maintenance Engineer position involves long hours of standing, manual dexterity, and physical strength to handle various maintenance tasks. Applicants must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and possess good vision and communication skills.
