Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join The University of Vermont Health Network team as a Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients throughout the perioperative process, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care and support to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, deliver care, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Coordinate perioperative care to ensure a seamless experience for patients.
• Provide pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, post-procedure evaluation, and effective pain management.
• Deliver patient/family education and support throughout the care process.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS certification required; PALS certification within 12 months.
• Excellent customer service, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Competent in IV therapy, venipuncture, and ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
